Emulsion VI was headlined by pianist & Steinway artist Robert Mitchell, who performed a solo set on Friday 15th… and the Emulsion Sinfonietta performed on Saturday 16th, premiering two new pieces written by Robert and Nikki Iles (who also guested with the Sinfonietta) alongside existing repertoire. Huge thanks to our Emulsion Kickstarter backers for making these commissions happen (read Trish’s open letter of thanks here). There were also two excellent workshops for local audiences in March and April, and it was a joy for the Emulsion team to work with such lovely and open-minded people.

This editions’s Sinfonietta included:

Mandhira de Saram – violin; Trish Clowes – saxophones; Percy Pursglove (Friday)/Freddie Gavita (Saturday) – trumpet; Chris Montague – guitar; Melinda Maxwell – oboe/cor anglais; Max Welford – clarinets; Tom Harrison – saxophone; Louise McMonagle – cello;  Calum Gourlay – bass; Catriona McDermid – bassoon; Ross Stanley -piano/Hammond organ; James Maddren – drums
