Our 7th edition isn’t far away… Emulsion will be returning to the mac Birmingham on November 2nd (evening) and 3rd (afternoon) 2018.
Tickets aren’t on sale just yet, but you can sign up for the Emulsify workshops on Sunday September 16th and Sunday October 7th (both 1.30-5.30pm) with Trish Clowes, Percy Pursglove, Chris Montague & Catriona McDermid. You can email Trish to register you interest, or take a quick read of the following:
Trish is currently doing a practice-led PhD in jazz studies at Birmingham City University. The focus of Trish’s research is exploring the interactions between musicians and their audience and looking at the social context for music creation.
Trish is looking for volunteers to participate in 2 workshops on Sunday September 16th and Sunday October 7th (running from 1.30pm-5.30pm), as well as attending/participating in the Emulsion VII festival on 2nd (evening) & 3rd (afternoon) November 2018 – all at the mac Birmingham. These activities would involve making music, giving feedback to performances and rehearsals, answering questionnaires and generally socialising with other audience members and the musicians of Emulsion.
ABILITY TO PLAY A MUSICAL INSTRUMENT IS NOT REQUIRED
– completely free of charge to participate
– participants must be at least 18 years of age
– you will need to read and sign a consent form to participate – available from Trish in advance (forms will also be available at the first workshop)
– you need to be available for all the dates listed above, although Trish is happy to be flexible if small absences won’t have a significant impact on her research
